January 2014 - Crazy weather New Year

Earlier this last week it was so cold that I couldn't hardly stand being outside in a coat and yesterday and I sweating while doing yardwork.
Last weekend, I took a trip with a friend to Bethune Beach, a place I had not visited since my college days. The waves were big for our breaks and the situation was one where I decided taking photos on the beach was my best way to enjoy the day.

This weekend was similar. I got up and the wind was blowing like crazy, yet the beach cams were showing good waves. That is the problem for us land-locked surfers. No matter what the current conditions are, we are at least an hour away from being in the water, so tide changes, wind shifts and moving storms all matter.
After a long discussion over the cams and weather this morning, we scraped a Sunday trip to the beach. Instead, I will head out on the lake on the paddleboard before the wind kicks in, I hope!
